President's 2012 Budget Reveals Conflicted Priorities on Immigration

President's 2012 Budget on Immigration

Reading this blog entry made me realize that our government isn't really taking immigration seriously in regards to making it better for immigrants. The administration is giving much money to custody operations, border fencing, programs to identify immigrants in jail but the government is not giving much to programs that could reshape the immigration system. I feel that our government is helping the negative side of immigration but not the positive side of it. I don't understand why our government does these kinds of things.

  1. It is odd that our government tries so very hard to keep everyone out when our country runs on the fact that U.S citizens were immigrants in the first place. On top of the fact that most people rely on the labor of immigrants for jobs that most would not or will not do. I understand the want to keep our boarders safe and to have a fair influx of honest people, but to , as you say focus on the negitive aspect, is something that should not be done it is ultimatly what fules everyones negitive responses toward immigrants.
